How long should my battery last?

Batteries typically last between 3 and 5 years, depending on a number of factors:

• Daily depth of discharge
• Installation location
• Discharge rate
• Ambient temperature
• Charging ability (e.g. solar panel shading)
• Storage time without charge

Batteries will self-discharge at a rate of around 2–3% per month, depending on temperature, when in storage. Batteries have a usable shelf life of around 9 months at room temperature before they need to be recharged.
