      What do I need to know about solar panel shading?

      This article explains how a shaded solar panel can affect solar-powered products and shows some examples of poor installation.

      Below are a few key points on solar panel shading:

      • All solar-powered products should be installed in a location that is away from obstructions (buildings, trees, power lines, etc).

      Even minor shading can affect the ability of a battery to recharge properly.
